Symbiose is an urban farm located in Belgium.
Since 2018, we have specialized in the production of special food products.

Where it all started: microgreens
That was our first love. We started of by producing and selling microgreens to restaurants in our neighbourhood. It was a success!
Edible flowers
After a year in business, we started to grow our own edible flowers in the backyard, adding more colours and interesting flavours to the mix.
And then...
COVID pandemic and mushrooms
During the pandemic, most if not all our customers were out of business, meaning we had to find ways to keep everything afloat without any income.
That's when we started developing our know-how in the production of mushrooms. First fructifying ready-made substrate, then progressively learning how to produce our own at the farm.
Consolidating our local market leadership
With the pandemic behind us, we got back on our feet with the will to consolidate our strong presence in the local market.
Today, almost all the high-end restaurants in a radius of 40min drive around the farm use our products every week.
Opening Symbiose to the world
Over the years, we have received a lot of requests from non-restaurant customers willing to enjoy our products and, more importantly, to learn how to do it themselves.
Mid-2024, we started doubling down on our online presence and symbiose.bio, with the aim to make DIY food more inclusive and more affordable for everybody.

We believe that food production should take place as close as possible to those who consume it. That’s why all our restaurants are located within a 30km radius of our farm.

From seed to plate
We use neither pesticides nor synthetic fertilizers. We sell and distribute our produce in direct connection with each of our customers.
